How to Clean Shower Curtains
The easiest way we've found to clean shower curtains is to throw it in
the washer with a load of white towels and a little bleach. Use
warm water wash, then t hang to dry. Simple as that.
Recycle Your Old Shower Curtains
Many folks replace plastic shower curtains after they get dirty or torn.
But there may still be life in that curtain. Here's some tips to help
you resurrect it:
- Repair a shower curtain with a torn ring hole by covering the hole
with duct tape or heavy plastic tape. Just repunch the hole and hang
the curtain back up.
- Toss plastic shower curtains in the washer to clean. Just wash with
warm water and very little detergent. Do not put them in the dryer,
though. Hang and allow to air dry.
Got a new shower curtain with wrinkles? Remove the wrinkles by blowing
it with a hair dryer.
There other uses for curtains no longer fit for the shower:
- Place a shower curtain under a high chair to prevent a child's lunch
from getting all over the floor.
- Make baby bibs out of old shower curtains. Sterilize the curtain,
then cut out into a bib shape and sew together.
- Place a shower curtain under a child's easel to prevent spilled paint
from getting on the floor.
- Line the trunk of the car with a shower curtain before hauling messy
loads.
- Make window curtains out of shower curtains. Look for cotton or poly-cotton
blend curtains at the local department store or home center. They can
be easily adjusted to fit a window. back to top
